Riverview Heights Public Housing
The Riverview Heights apartments complex is a safe place you can call home.
Completely handicapped accessible units and catered meals are available. A community room provides a great location for residents to visit and attend community functions. Preference is given to residents requiring Customized Living Services such as:
- Nursing
- Home Care Services
- Med Set-up
- Bathing
If you are a current participant and need to report a change in your
household income or the number of people living with you, you must fully complete and
send to the HRA the appropriate form by choosing one of the links below. Appointments
are REQUIRED to ADD ADULTS to the household.
Riverview Heights Public Housing Requirements:
Applicants who qualify as “elderly family or person” are eligible, as well as any person or persons 62 years of age or over, or a disabled person as defined by Social Security Act. Any single person may apply as well. The gross household income must not exceed the following limits for this program:
- Low Rent Public Housing
- Effective 5/1/2024
- 1 Person - $52,100
- 2 Persons - $59,550
Riverview Heights Public Housing Features:
Each apartment has a shower equipped with wall mounted grab bars for safety. Towel bars are also of sufficient strength to serve as grab bars. Air conditioner sleeves are included in each apartment. Tenants provide their own air conditioners. Each apartment has hot water heat controlled by a room thermostat.
Automatic washers and dryers are provided in designated areas, at a minimal cost to tenants. Garbage and trash are disposed of in the trash chute with a “drop” on each floor.
Meals are catered from the Senior Nutrition Program and are served in the Community Room five days a week at noon, for those who wish to partake. Frozen meals are available for week ends.
Grounds are well lighted for safety of the tenants. Outside features include a patio with benches, and scenic walks along the river. Close access to business district. Off street parking is available for tenants. Plug-ins available at minimal charge.
Riverview Heights Public Housing Recreation:
A community and craft room where residents can visit with neighbors, attend community functions and participate in various social activities. This room also has a kitchen equipped with a range, refrigerator, sink and cabinets to enable occupants or groups to prepare snacks and entertain family and friends.
An active tenants council provides activities such as bingo, monthly potlucks, and special occasion parties. The Customized Living Program also provides a variety of activities including games, coffee and birthday parties.
A weekly exercise program is available.
