You can rent any type of unit: apartment, single-family dwelling, duplex/triplex/fourplex, Townhome, or mobile home, which is suitable to your family size. The HRA will approve a rental unit if the following conditions are met:
1) The unit must pass federal inspection standards.
2) The owner’s lease is approved and landlord agrees to participate in program.
3) The rent to owner is reasonable in comparison to other units in the area.
4) The family’s share of rent does not exceed 40% of their monthly-adjusted income; and rent plus an allowance for utilities should not exceed these limits:
